PHILIPPINE POPLU

A Raw Talent

A Paris native, Philippine Poplu trained at Penninghen art school before going on to collaborate with luxury houses. For Orient Express, the French artist composed an original gouache drawing inspired by Orient Express’s legendary Art Deco train cars.

The Wood

Sycamore maple, a rare and original hardwood with a remarkable fine grain, is renowned for adorning the most beautiful pieces of furniture.

The Canvas

The printed cotton canvas is primed, then pleated and mounted by hand.

The Colours

The fan’s shade features midnight blue, Orient Express’s signature colour, and hints of amber.
